How to adopt a cat or a kitten from Catitude Cattery

We sell our cats and kittens only to responsible people, who will be able to provide tender loving care to our cats. To be able to care for a cat for years you must be sure that you and your family members do not have a cat allergy. Please consult with your family doctor about this very important matter.  If you gave it a lot of thought, and decided that an exotic cat is a right cat for you, you can take the first step and contact me via e-mail at: catitudecattery@gmail.com.

In the email, tell me about yourself and your home life:

  • Are you looking for a pet, show class cat, or breeding cat?

  • How did you find us?

  • Do you have cat allergy?

  • Do you have other cats, or other animals at your house?

  • Why do you want to have an exotic cat?

  • Tell me about your preferences.  Do you want to adopt male or female?  What color do you prefer?

Then we can talk on the phone about possibilities to adopt an exotic shorthair or longhair cat, or will put you on a waiting list.

For safety reasons, kittens can not be viewed until they are 8 weeks of age.

If you will choose a kitten before this time, I will give you the opportunity to see his or her photos and videos.  Kittens do not leave our home until 10-12 weeks of age. This allows them to develop a strong immune system, be dewormed, vaccinated, gain weight, learn to use a litter box, learn to use scratch post, and develop socially and emotionally by being around their mom and siblings.

The kitten or cat can be reserved after paying a deposit of $ 300.00 CAD. The deposit is nonrefundable in case of the buyer’s failure to purchase a cat or a kitten. The deposit is considered the buyer’s indemnification for the maintenance, care, and the lost sale revenue.

Catitude cattery reserves the right to refuse the sale or reservation of a kitten or cat without explanation, and in this case will refund the deposit.

The kitten goes to the buyer after full payment. Your kitten will be vaccinated and dewormed before the sale day.  All our cats and kittens are health guaranteed.  That means, that each individual cat is vet inspected before leaving our home and coming to yours. The buyer will receive Vet Certificate signed by a Licensed Vet. Cattitude cattery is happy to be free of parasites, mites and fleas.

Catitude kittens and adult cats not for re-sale to anyone, not to any individuals, not for pet stores or research facilities, etc.  None of our cats are sold to a home where they will be re-sold or given away.  If at any time you are unable to care for your felines, Catitude Cattery will always be ready to take them back.  If you can not keep them for any reason, they must come back to our home.

Our cats and kittens should never be declawed. None of our cats and kittens should be caged. Catitude cattery considers declawing and caging cats as animal cruelty.

Cats and kittens from our cattery should not be allowed to roam freely outside. All cats and kittens available for adoption are sold as indoor cats.  If you will decide to let your feline spend some time outside in your own backyard, you need to take full responsibilities and secure the environment from all possible dangers such as wild animals, dangerous diseases, poisonous insects, and plants, etc.  Keep in mind, that in the summertime cats can get a heatstroke as any other pets.

We do not sell show and breed quality cats with breeding rights to breeders who do not show their breeding stock, and do not work to improve the breed or to meet breed standards.

Delivery of a kitten is not included in the cost and is paid separately by the buyer. We make free delivery within reasonable distance. Shipping within Canada to all major airports is possible now at $330 CAD regardless of distance.
